Product Introduction

When PWM inverter drives the motor directly, it produces a high common mode voltage of dv/dt, resulting in bearing current and common mode leakage current, as well as serious electromagneticinterference (EMI).Especially when the inverter is connectedto the motor through the long line cable,due to the influence of the distribution parameters in the cable, the voltage reflection phenomenon will occur at the motor end,which will produce more than 2 times the overvoltage at the motor end, resulting in coil insulation failure. dv/dt filter can reduce the attenuation rate of the increase of the transmission line effect voltage of the motor cable. And minimize the peak voltage that occurs on the motor terminals。


Product Application

The dv/dt filter is a filter designed to protect the motor, due to the length of the running cable between the inverter and the motor can cause a devastating effect on the motor peak voltage. The length of the cable depends on the number of switches of the power semiconductor used in the inverter and the size of the motor, if the cable is short to 2.5 meters, it will cause the peak voltage of the motor to exceed the rating of the motor insulation system. However, the problem is even greater if the cable is too long, in which case dv/dt filters are needed to protect the motor from the devastating effects of peak voltages.
